What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an allied health profession which focuses on a person’s neuro-musculoskeletal system. This includes the bones, muscles, nerves and other tissues that support and control the body’s movements.
Osteopaths employ their skills in anatomy, physiology, pathology and general diagnosis to assess and treat people with various health conditions. Treatment at Pinnacle Health Osteopathy can consist of hands-on therapy, dry needling, exercise programs, movement and postural advise, as well as ergonomic assessment.
In Australia, osteopaths are government registered allied health practitioners who complete university training. They primarily work in private practice but can also be found in a range of health settings including: multidisciplinary medical/health clinics, rehabilitation clinics, aged care facilities, professional sports clubs, government, chronic pain management settings and research institutes.
Osteopathy continues to refine and improve care as scientific understanding develops. Pinnacle Health Osteopathy is strongly committed to evidence informed practice in it’s delivery of quality patient focused healthcare.
